Orgeat syrup (pronounced “or-zat”) is a sweet syrup that has an almond flavor.  It is made with sugar, almonds, and usually has a little orange flower water.  It is one of the main ingredients in a Trader Vic's Mai Tai.  Orgeat syrup is used in other cocktails besides the mai tai, and comes in a variety of different flavors including, hazelnut, bannana, mango, and many others.  Usually, the orignal flavor is called for in most cocktail recipes.  It can be difficult to find orgeat syrup.
